Mojang Is Having A Fantastic November

Indie game developer Mojang is having perhaps their best month yet. The makers of the hit game Minecraft have seen the game surpass four million in sales and are days away from holding a convention just for it.

For anyone trying to sell their game out there in this dog-eat-dog world, four million sales is quite the accomplishment. Mojang hasn't done a marketing campaign yet, so they've come to rely on word of mouth advertising, and it's working. They have also logged more than twelve million user accounts.

Minecon 2011 will take place in Las Vegas on November 18th and 19th. The event is sold out. Not only will fans get to catch a keynote speech from their beloved Notch, but both members of Yogscast will be speaking. Also, Mojang will be demonstrating their other upcoming games, Scrolls and Cobalt. IGN plans to livestream the events.

The convention marks the date of the official release of the game. Until now the game has gone extensive beta-testing with its users. Once officially released users can likely expect the same updating pattern they've seen over the alpha and beta testing cycles.
